Today's Photo:

I moved to Western Sonoma County seven years ago with my tiny house in tow. I took up residence in a remote spot in the redwoods next to a creek. When, a week later, I came upon this little structure 500 yards up the hill, then several others within a few 100 yards of that, I knew that I had found home. Like a lot of other pricy parts of the country, Sonoma County is laden with clandestine little structures where a lot of the folks who could not otherwise afford to live here manage to live very well.

NOTE: Micro-House-March is Jay Shafer’s month-long celebration of beautiful and efficient home design. For the 31 days of March, Jay will be posting a photo per day from his tiny house travels. Most of these pictures have never been published before. The majority of the photos will not be accompanied by interior photographs, since they were taken during travel, not interior tours. These are not Four Lights Tiny House Company designs. You can see the entire list of Micro-House-March posts HERE

Marsha Cowan:

It is adorable, and to be able to live happily in a tiny space, it absolutely has to be adorable. I would not be able to live in my tiny house if it did not greet me with rich beauty when I stepped through the door. Its the aesthetics as much as the practicality that appeals to our souls, a simple yet beautiful surrounding that frees our minds to think of and accomplish other things. I love this place!
